Solar & battery

As one of the sunniest places on earth - solar power is a great way to use the WA sunshine to generate your own clean energy and help reduce your energy bills. Combine this with battery storage and electric vehicles and you're on the way towards a brighter energy future.

Considering solar? We’ll help you along the way.

There’s a lot to consider when installing solar (and a lot of lingo!).
We've detailed some simple steps to take - to help you make the best decision for your home.

Know which questions to ask your installer

When you get a solar quote, it’s important to understand what’s included - and what’s not. The smart choice checklist can help you make an informed decision.

Get your solar ready reference number

Ready to connect? Great! You’ll need a Smart Connect Solar reference number. Your installer needs this to apply to connect to the network on your behalf.

Smart Connect Solar

When the sun is shining bright, solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, which is used to power your home. Any excess energy is then sent back to the grid. With energy management, we can turn up or down the solar energy generated when needed to maintain network stability - we call this Smart Connect Solar.

Distributed Energy Buyback Scheme

If you’re eligible for a buyback scheme, you may be able to export your excess solar energy to the network and sell that power back to us. The rate you are paid per kW depends on the time of day your system is exporting energy into the network.
